Brief
A strategic re-stack to facilitate the disposal of the organisation’s neighbouring site and improve synergies to increase business effectiveness and efficiencies.
Approach
To ensure the facilities on the neighbouring site were relocated to the Discovery Centre building in time for the sale to be completed. Interviews were carried out with the Senior Executive Team to understand current and future business requirements, ensuring lessons from previous churn exercises were not repeated and business disruption was kept to a minimum, i.e. no group moving more than once during the restack.
Outcome
Due to the severe cost, time constraints imposed on the project, and minimising business disruption, existing furniture had to be employed and space reconfiguration had to be kept to a minimum. Where there was a requirement for more support facilities these were costed and prioritised as ‘essential - nice to have’. Validated building capacities to accommodate the increased headcounts, established several re-stacking options with supporting costs. The preferred option was developed into the ‘Moves Blueprint’ which the organisation then rolled out.
